August 31, 2015 (www.waternewswire.com) Big Blue Live is a live television and online event celebrating some of the world's most amazing marine creatures converging off California's coast. Viewers can watch one of nature's great “reality shows” delivered through state-of-the-art filming technologies and live reports from air, sea, and below the waves.
Join scientists, animal behaviorists, and other experts in a special live TV broadcast to view the rejuvenation of the once endangered ecosystem of Monterey Bay, California, where some of the world's most charismatic marine creatures convene in a once-a-year confluence of fins, fur, and fangs.
While Big Blue Live is centered on the salt water of Monterey Bay, the messages of bio-diversity and environmental health will resonate strongly with Great Lakes audiences. A key goal of Detroit Public Television's Great Lakes Bureau is to build a sense of stewardship and concern for environmental health in the Great Lakes basin. This week's broadcasts will no doubt inspire an entire generation with interest in science and nature and maintaining the health of the planet.
The immersive viewer experience is intended to make the show exciting and engaging for audiences of all ages and to spur family-centered viewing. Our friends at PBS Learning Media also have a multitude of resources around this event:
